I was not disappointed in the least! While I felt that possibly the story started off a bit slow, and in the beginning it was hard to keep all the characters in order, once we got going, it was lovely.
They come up with the idea to sell their houses and buy one together. Lindsay hopes to pursue her art full time and they think she can support them while Bridget takes care of the cooking and housekeeping and CiCi handles the maintenance and repairs. They fall in love with a huge old home in a small town in the Shenandoah Valley. They also find that they learn a lot about themselves and their community along the way. I thought this book was just charming! Sure, they had tough times and got very frustrated, but they persevered and worked at it, even as members of their own families had their doubts. Bridget, Lindsay and CiCi had their own personalities and I found myself attached to them — I felt like they were friends by the time I finished the book.
