Superman/Wonder Woman #1 by Charles SouleWhen they first announced that Superman and Wonder Woman would become a couple in Justice League, I was surprised. Surprised because it came out of nowhere. It seemed more like a publicity stunt than anything else. There was no build up to it. No spark or tension. In Justice League, they were too busy fighting each other or fighting Darksied to have time for relationships with each other.
And then they announced a new ongoing series for Superman and Wonder Woman, to explore the relationship between the two characters and have some fun team up stories along the way. And since the solo Wonder Woman series is as good as it is, I thought Id give another title with her in a shot.
Its a promising first issue. Ive never been much of a fan of Tony Daniel, but here he does some majestic flying shots which look pretty, along with some exciting fight scenes. Nothing overly amazing, but its nice to look at.
But from this series, I need Charles Soule to make me believe why these two are together. If each story is going to be dates getting interrupted by a villain, its going to get boring. But at the same time, there does need to be action. Ill stick around for a while and give this title a shot.

Wonder Woman returns to her home island of Themyscira to visit her mother, who was turned to stone, victim to the wrath of Hera , who was jealous that Hippolyta had had an affair with her husband Zeus - the same affair that had seen Diana conceived. The Amazons that Diana had once called sisters were transformed into snakes , and she is forced to step around them as she approaches the statue that was her mother. Diana first begs forgiveness for failing to free her, and for failing to visit more often. Unfortunately, like many children, she has only come to her mother because she needs something: to confess her weakness. She explains that her decisions to choose Superman as a companion is causing her strife because he refuses to give up his double-life for her, and it is a life that she cannot participate in. Truth be told, she doesn't know that Superman wants her to be a part of it. This doubt troubles her because she is used to the strength of both will and form that come with being the daughter of a god.
Steampunk Variant Covers For Wonder Woman #28 And Superman/Wonder Woman #5
Jones and Trish Mulvihill:. Also, steampunk should be more than old timey plus goggles; both covers could use some fancy, faux-antiquated technology. Without that, these are just Western covers he said, nitpicking. People love variant covers! Tags: Dan Panosian , J. You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.
The series was published from October to May It was to explore the budding relationship between Superman and Wonder Woman , the DC Universe 's most powerful heroes. That concept has been around for a long time. It was addressed in Kingdom Come , the great Mark Waid book. Most recently, in Justice League 12 October , they had the kiss heard 'round the world They're arguably two of the most powerful beings in the whole DC Universe and they're romantic together so just imagine the adventures and excitement that can come from that. There are maybe people on the planet that can fly, and two of them are Wonder Woman and Superman.
