A Country Practice: New Beginnings: The lives and loves of the doctors, nurses and neighbours of Wandin Valley by Judith Colquhoun

Oh what a joy this was to read. I have vague memories of watching the TV show years ago and have always had a love for Australian sagas.

The idyllic nostalgic feel of this story was a delight. All the goings on in a small town community where everyone either knows each other or is related to them. Based around a small hospital it involves the lives of the doctors, nurses, local vet, policeman etc.

Itís amazing how much drama can occur in a short space of time, birth, death, love, deceit but itís those factors which make this so realistic.

I adore the medical camaraderie because I have experienced that in my line of work .. the gossiping which inevitably begins as soon as the town inhabitants get an inkling of a scandal.

I particularly like Terence the dashing doctor he has secrets which intrigue me, also cranky Frank the cop, he means well but comes across as a bit gruff. There are numerous characters as you would expect and they all have their own backgrounds .. this is the first in a series and Iím looking forward to reading the rest to get to know the people better.

Interestingly the author also writes for ĎNeighboursí one of my all time guilty pleasures so itís not surprising I found this such a pleasure to read. Good, wholesome fun, fast paced and recommended.

Thanks to the author and Neverland Blog Tours .. I read and reviewed voluntarily.
